The type of personal information collected

I currently collect and process the following information:

  • Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics. Such as, name and contact details.

  • Health details

  • Emergency contact details

  • Stripe, our payment processor, collects “Transaction Data”. That includes, but not limited to: your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, payment method information (such as credit or debit card number, bank account information or payment card image selected by you), merchant and location, purchase amount, date of purchase, and in some cases, some information about what you have purchased and your phone number.

How I get the personal information and why I have it

Most of the personal information processed is provided directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Signing up to my newsletter

  • Contacting me about classes

  • Booking a course online

  • Filling in the Student Intake Form

I also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Stripe, our payment gateway, if you book through there.

  • Google, if you fill out any forms digitally.

  • MailerLite, when you sign up to my newsletter.

I use the information that you have given in order to book you onto classes and contact you if required. If you have opted-in to my newsletter, I will also send this to you.

I do not share this information with anyone who isn’t working for Grit & Grace Yoga.

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:

Your consent.
You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting Grit & Grace / Bronwyn.

A legitimate interest.
In order to protect participant safety, and contact emergency contacts in the rare event it is required.

How I store your personal information:

Your information is securely stored. 

I keep any personal information for up to 5 years after you stop practising with me. I then dispose of your information by digitally erasing, or shredding any physical copies.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access - You have the right to ask for copies of your personal information. 

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask me to complete information you think is incomplete. 

Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask me to erase your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 

Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
